PennBarry, a subsidiary of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., is seeking a Welding Engineer to optimize welding processes across manufacturing operations. The Welding Engineer is responsible for developing welding procedures, ensuring compliance with industry codes and environmental regulations, and resolving welding-related manufacturing challenges to improve efficiency and reduce costs. This role will also design and implement training, certification, inspection, and quality control programs, while collaborating closely with the design engineering team to specify and document welding requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for welding processes and equipment to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Develop and implement standard welding procedures across several manufacturing teams to ensure consistency and best practices
- Ensure all welding operations comply with industry, codes, standards, environmental regulations.
- Identify and resolve welding-related manufacturing challenges, while seeking opportunities to reduce costs and improve productivity
- Develop and oversee internal welding training, certification program, inspection, and quality control programs.
- Assist in the selection, procurement, and maintenance of welding equipment and materials to support production needs
- Collaborate with design engineering teams to define and document welding requirements accurately.
- Adhere to and promote company work and safety policies to maintain a secure and compliant work environment
What We Look For
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related study
- 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with welding standards and procedure development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time to respective manufacturing locations in the US and Mexico to perform audits and respective trainings and projects.
Preferred
- Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) certification
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear or smell. The employee is sometimes required to climb or balance.
